The services that Firstfruits, now under the heading of Glenwood Church pastoral team, can offer include mentoring, befriending, providing practical support and useful advice.

Each new mum referred to us is assigned a sort of mentor or key-worker, specially chosen from our group of volunteers to suit the needs of that person who will meet with you maybe once a week or however often you need in order to talk about… well, whatever you want!  If you’re struggling at the moment, need some advice on pregnancy or bringing up your baby, or just feeling a bit lonely, we’ll do our best to help.

Over the years, Firstfruits gathered together a list of useful information that can be accessed by our mums ranging from where to go for soft-play to where to access free debt advice.  This information is now available through Glenwood Church pastoral team.  Whatever you’re struggling with, if we don’t have the answers ourselves, we probably know someone that does.

It should be stressed we are NOT trained counselors, nor are we medically trained (though if you need it, we can help refer you to people that are…).

Between 2008 and 2012, Firstfruits rented a house in which those mums and babies that could benefit from a secure home were able to come and live with some of our volunteers in order to receive closer support.  Over those years, we have built up a wealth of experience supporting pregnant women and young mothers.
